It was a White Hinterlandy weekend for yours truly. Had the great pleasure of seeing Sean and Casey play on Friday night at Glasslands with shred-goddess Marnie Stern. And on Saturday, had Casey over to the studio for a day of writing and recording for my new project! Lemme tell you, homegirl has some serious pipes.

Hey hey hey!

The response to my Phantogram remix has been ginormicous! So much love out there – really makes a guy feel special. For the fifth time this year, I hit #1 on Hypemachine, premiered on Entertainment Weekly, achieved “most blogged” status on The Independent, NME’s top ten of the week, and shout-outs on Prefix and Filter Magazines. Not too shabby!

Before I break it all down below, a few pieces of exciting news. Just put the finishing touches on a new remix, and been approached to do another for a pretty substantial artist. And most importantly, been chipping away at my next solo album! It’s a slow process, unfortunately, but making progress every day.

A month or two ago, I got a very polite email from a dancer from the National Slovak Theater regarding my song, “The Hustle” (DOWNLOAD). He was organizing a workshop in which he and his fellow dancers would each present a choreographed routine, and he wanted to use my song for his segment.

I of course obliged, but only under the condition that he videotape it and put it up on youtube so I could see it!

It arrived in my inbox this weekend, and I was blown away. This was one of those rare and incredible moments in my musical life that I could never have imagined or predicted, one in which the power of art, music and the internet overwhelmed me completely. To think that my song somehow wound up in the ears of a dancer and turned into a show, here:
