Austere (Alan Wilkis Remix)
A couple of weeks ago, I got some pretty “fuggin incredible news,” as I so eloquently tweeted. I’ve since been sitting on pins and needles waiting to share it, and finally the time has come!
I was tapped to remix an incredible song, “Austere,” by an incredible band, The Joy Formidable, whose album, “The Big Roar,” was among my favorites of 2011. As if that in itself weren’t enough, the remix was to be a part of the promotional TV campaign surrounding the launch of EA Sports’ “SSX” snowboarding videogame.
EA has a tendency to use REALLLLLLLY cool music for their promos - they used Battles “Ice Cream” for their FIFA game last year, for example. I am seriously honored to have been considered for this project and really couldn’t be more psyched about it.
Check out the video below - at the time of writing this post, it’s approaching an astounding 500K views on YouTube! And keep your eyes peeled for it on TV - I haven’t seen it yet, but it’s supposedly airing now.
Steam the full version of the remix here:
And lastly, check out the remix premiere from my pals over at Some Kind of Awesome!
